My name is madbaker, and I'm an addict.
It's past time to admit this. I've been addicted for more than twenty years.
I've kind of known this for some time, but it really hit home yesterday when I didn't have my usual stash. This is not normally a "problem" - I have stashes in at least eight different places around the house so that I'm never without.
If you answer "yes" to more than four of these, you have a problem.
( This is painful, but I've been told that admitting is the first step. )

At
bonacorsi's suggestion, I got out of the house (and her hair) yesterday. I went to the local sci-fi bookstore where Cory Doctorow was signing his latest book Little Brother, which I bought and read when it came out.
It was a good idea. There were a lot of people there. Cory read the same fragment he read at SF in SF about a year ago - it didn't work as well for me this time, but that may have been because this was the third time I had heard/read it.
When I was getting the book signed, I mentioned that I live just down the street from a steep quasi-hidden staircase that appears in one scene. Turns out Cory used to live a couple blocks from us.
