Welp, the inevitable happened.

I got an e-mail from my dad - the semi-assisted living place he's in has a resident with COVID. That person has been transferred to a hospital and everyone is locked in until they get tested. Who knows how long that will be (I'm sure they are trying to get tests quickly).

Oh that must be terrible. I don't know where he is, but I know that down here assisted living facilities are on priority testing once there's been a known exposure.

I too hope that he and the other residents can get tested and be able to walk about again. My mom's SNF shut down immediately in March, and a few staff members have been exposed, but there have been no positive cases so far. I feel for the staff - they are taking every precaution and the whole facility gets tested very regularly.

Scary and frustrating. I hope that everyone there gets lucky and they managed to notice on time to keep it from spreading.
