I arrived at the bus stop a minute earlier than average. Next bus: 15 minutes. (Also: "Service every 10 minutes or less." Unclear on the concept?) I decamped across the street for the backup bus to BART, but stayed on the corner so I could dart back across if the primary bus showed up early.
It didn't. When the 15 minute bus arrived, I mentally rolled the dice and continued to wait for the backup bus, which would get me into work on time.
10 minutes later, it hadn't. I walked back across the street and took the arriving second bus. Which got me into work 20 minutes after my usual average.
I had a second cup of coffee yesterday, so I don't want to get another today - even though I am dragging (and cold).
