Car fu

I'm somewhat crabby this morning. That's partly due to spilling coffee in my lap on the way in. Too bad it wasn't from McDonalds, or I could weigh my self-respect against the possibility of a big lawsuit payoff.

I drove the Mustang today, as I'm getting the cracked windshield replaced. Normally I drive the Saturn wagon - this is quite a change. Not always a positive one; for one thing, Ford didn't design a good cupholder in this car. There are two; one large and Big Gulp sized, but only an inch deep. My commuter mug won't stay in it (and at that depth, I doubt a Big Gulp would either). The other one is a more standard-size width and depth, but is placed directly behind the gearshift. That means if you have anything taller than three inches in it (like, say, a commuter mug) you can't use second or fourth gear.

Knowing this, I had my mug braced between my legs. Didn't help (see first paragraph).

I also get annoyed that the wife doesn't keep the car clean. Okay, I don't expect to be able to eat off the floor; but is it that difficult to remove the empty plastic bottles, used Kleenexes, etc. from the floor? Sheesh.

I found an ant crawling on my leg as I was getting out at the office today.
Maybe it was in search of coffee.
