Get Offa My Lawn! Dagnabbit.

Nice lunch yesterday with the LJ crew (which sounds like a rap posse) -- [livejournal.com profile] seamoose, [livejournal.com profile] fionnbharro, [livejournal.com profile] farmount, [livejournal.com profile] maestrateresa, and [livejournal.com profile] klwilliams. The Greek/Turkish place is worth visiting again.

However, [livejournal.com profile] klwilliams pointed out that the bulk of our conversation focused on our various aches and pains, taxes, kids' mishaps... that's it, I am old. So are my friends.

Hang out with my group, instead

We discuss things like metal fatigue, stone bruises, and where to get a needle to inject ink into small areas of a sculpture. And food. We do talk about food.

and my posse chats about:
pluvinel and period horsemanship
why some medieval music is moer fun to dance to than others
why cant Anne-Marie get the hang of the triple step in LindyHop?
the perfect chocolate chip cookie
our families and why we want to strangle them all sometimes
the best way to produce 16th century sword harness bits
who's minor nobility in the Seattle theater scene (and who just thinks they are)
whether a deep fried turkey is a good thing or not

you know, standard stuff ;)

I dunno...I think we talked about a lot of *other* things, too...at least at *my* end of the table :)

Thbbbt. At least we waited until the "delicate sex" had left before touching on menopause.

And nobody breathed a word about erecticle dysfunction.

At least my view on taxes had to do with my dad not finding out that I got paid for things that I'm sure he doesn't want to think about his daughter doing.

I'm turning 30 on Sunday. Feel any older? :P

That topic also came up at lunch. We ignored it, since what that vis a vis our getting old just doesn't bear thinking about.
