Counter-point

The Slow Food people had broadsheets printed up with a ten-point manifesto. One of the points was "Never eat anything your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize as food."

Taken literally, I violate that all the time. None of my great-grandmothers would recognize arugula, tomatillos, purple potatoes...

One set of great-greats were raising the kids with the philosophy that if you're hungry but unwilling to eat bread with butter, then you're not really hungry. Farm-folk ftw. I'd be stuck with dill + cheese + rye bread.

A different set of great-greats were running a health spa in Switzerland before immigrating and becoming farmers. Want some mineral water with your whole grains and yogurt?
