A bad day in the ballpark...

Is still better than a good day at work. I took yesterday off to go watch the Giants get shellacked with a friend. That wasn't great, but it was a beautiful day, the beer and garlic fries were tasty, and I got to catch up with aforementioned friend, who lives far enough away that I don't see her much.

Turns out she lurks here (Hi!) and so she was fairly familiar with what's been going on in my life. That feels a bit odd, but that is one of the reasons I write in this thing, and if I really cared about random people reading it I'd lock down more entries.

The only downside to yesterday? Galen likes garlic. I ate garlic fries. He spent much of the night washing my face.

Lots of cats like garlic -- mine do. I found this out when I used to make a dish called "garlic and broccoli" and found the cats up on the counter (they don't get on the counter for anything else.)

What are garlic fries? Presumably not sticks of garlic deep fried, although that sounds like it might be tasty. Ever had the garlic chocolate from Gilroy? Bleah.

French fries with parsley and chopped fresh garlic. Yum!
It becomes a domino thing in the stands as the smell spreads and people get up to get their own.

I thought the parsely was cilantro?

You forgot to mention the salt.

But, I agree; the Garlic Fries at Pac Bell are amazing.

I suppose that next time I'm in Costco, if I remember, I can check the ingredients - but I'm pretty sure it's parsley.

Ouch. Hope your face isn't too raw after all that cleaning!

He hasn't washed to "raw" state, although I don't let him get that far so I don't know if he would. However, it's impossible to sleep with him washing my face even just at the "tender" state.

If he didn't purr so hard while doing it, he'd get punted. As it is, he's starting to learn that "hand in front of face" means enough. Sometimes he switches to my head and hair, though, which is also weird and vaguely painful.

Never underestimate the efficacy of a kitty-facial! The cat I had when I was a teenager (Phred Upstairs) would lick my face all over nearly every night before we retired. I couldn't get him to stop. After a while I kind of got to like it (except for the tuna fish breath). However, it not only made face all soft, I'm certain that it was the sole reason I had almost no acne during those years.
