madbaker: (life is good)

I've grown more cautious in my book-buying. I've pruned down by book collection a fair amount, which is why I have over $100 in trade credit at the used bookstore. I've given up on some authors who I used to read regularly (Laurell Hamilton, Terry Goodkind) and will check out a book from the library to make sure that it's worth buying for most other authors that I do still read.

So why haven't I pared down my DVD collection?

I've never watched my copy of Bridge on the River Kwai that I got several years back, yet it still sits on my shelf. Granted, it was a present - but that didn't stop me from punting a set of books I was given last Xmas.

I'm aware of the contradiction, but that hasn't made me resolve it.
