Aug. 14th, 2021 11:49 am1 kg of Gravensteins purchased from the costermonger, now simmering on the stove to turn into apple butter. I do not have that many jars of apple butter in storage (the highest numbers by far on my jam spreadsheet are marmalade and plum) - plus I want the breed to continue.

They have many fans among home apple growers, so as long as we have One tree, and remember how to graft, they probably will not completely disappear. (Though hundreds of kinds have...)
