madbakerThis week's Resolution Recipe: A Moment of Silence Cocktail.
"This oddball cocktail makes for an enjoyably bitter little glass of fruit punch."
1 1/2 oz rye whiskey
1 oz apricot liqueur
1/2 oz Amaro Averna
1/2 oz Angostura bitters
1/4 oz apple brandy
Campari, for rinse
Fill a rocks glass with ice and rinse ice in glass with Campari. Combine remaining ingredients and stir until chilled. Strain into rocks glass and garnish with an orange twist.
What worked: It was okay. It tasted basically like a Black Manhattan (rye, amaro, bitters), which I like.
What didn't: I ran out of rye and had to top up with Jameson's, which is less flavorful.
Will I make it again? No. I'll just make Black Manhattans with half the number of ingredients.
