Our kitten is a freak, part II
Aug. 26th, 2003 08:00 amGalen has acclimated to us and the house reasonably well over the last couple of weeks. Last night was the first time we didn’t lock him into the bathroom for the night.
He didn’t wake us up in the early hours, pouncing and wanting to play (which is what I was afraid would happen). However...
At 2:00 AM, I was awakened by a scrabble/pounce. “Mew!” Pet me! Yes, it was cute, but I really just wanted to sleep. He was insistent, however; whenever I stopped scritching his chin and ears, Galen would wash my hand and neck. Repeatedly. Also the underside of my chin. Maybe the pre-shave stubble has the same texture as a kitten tongue? It’s faintly disturbing.
He didn’t let up for half an hour. I got to bed late to start with, so I’m seriously dragging today. Ah, the joys of parenting.
I suppose it could be worse, though. At least Galen isn’t trying to crawl up my nose. (Read Neil’s August 26 entry. What a great image.)
