Given the skill, heredity, chance, etc., what would you be happiest doing?
[Poll #567314]
If you choose "something else", explain what and why.

I want to breed cats. There's no way to make a living at it, hence the "fantasy" part. But I have always been fascinated by something I saw in a book when I was 15: the fact that the black-and-tan pattern common in dogs (like a Doberman or Rottweiler), mice and rabbits should be possible in cats.

I've always like genetics, but didn't have the math to do anything about it. So my dreem career would be to selectively breed showcats in search of the black-and-tan pattern.

I want to be funny...

For some reason I would like to write sit-coms and/or music video concept writer. I don't want my name on anything or my face linked to anything famous. I love my privacy-I would use a pen name!

I want a hunk of property within an hours drive of a good city where I can raise dairy goats, grown organic herbs etc for boutique restaurants, make artisanal cheeses and canned goods and host retreats.

instead I'm a scientist. ;)

I want to work in the craft room of an extrordinarily high level costume shop, making cool stuff...without moving to LA.

Does it still count as a fantasy thing if I'm actually doing it? *smile*

I've wanted to be a professional entertainer for a long time. I wanted to act. I wanted to do magic. I want to write a book of magic to sell to the magician community. And I'm even doing that. It's probably about half done now.

I'm not stinkingly famous yet or anything like that, but I am taking a stab at making it happen and even if I never manage to get up to more then being able to live comfortably on what I make doing it, that would satisfy my "fantasy dream job" needs I think.

I picked 'something else' because they didnt have 'Emperor of America' as one of the choices. Oh well.

I voted for "something else" 'cause "being independantly wealthy and spending time with hobbies" wasn't a choice. ;-)

If that had been an option I'd certainly have voted for it. <g>

That's because "independently wealthy and spending time with hobbies" is a lifestyle, not a career.

Admittedly, it's one I'd like to have.

Yeah, I envy you your ability to go for it.

Me, I'll never be a World Series-winning MLB pitcher.

I think that's the "artist or writer" option :)
(thinking of art as textile or paint or.....)

I chose Nobel-quality scientist, but the super sekrit dream is to become a successful master weaver, with a bent toward unique designs and artistic hangings. It's about as practical financially as breeding cats, maybe less so.
