"bad" news on the home front
Mar. 9th, 2004 09:16 amAlthough as bad news go, I will take this sort.
aastg calligraphed a note for me about a year and a half ago. The short version of the long, involved story: she and I had been arguing back and forth over the proper spelling of "Boeuf Bourgignonne". My French is rusty enough that I wasn't positive on my correction, but I kept mentioning it and then forgetting to check. Helpful, huh? Finally she made me sit down and look, and it turned out I was right. So
aastg did up this note certifying me as a "Grade-A Smart Asse". Complete with attached ribbon and wax seal. Tres snotty, and verrah cool. We were planning to take it to the art shop tomorrow for a suitable frame job.
Unfortunately, Galen Mighty-Hunter-of-Strings found it during the night.
Fortunately, he didn't disturb the parchment. He just ate the ribbon and wax seal.
It's fixable.
Still... Aargh.
