"A study just presented at the American Academy of Neurology found that people who drank at least one glass of wine or one cup of coffee daily are more likely to reach their 90s than those who abstain. Wine drinkers have 12% less chance of dying while coffee drinkers reduce their odds of kicking the bucket bt 10%."

Now, if the two add together, I'm set!

The contractor is almost done with our garage joist repair. The wife, having had her last final of the semester yesterday, was home and asked some questions of the contractor and the electrician.

(Quick background: we own roughly half of a two-flat building. The plan is to convert to condominiums, which are easier to sell.)

Before we convert, we will have to replace all our old knob-and-tube wiring. We will also have to put in replacement tiles so as to provide a firebreak between the garage and the first unit (ours).

Apparently the building codes have changed again... or this was overlooked when we bought.

Either way, this means more projects to do before we can file, which means more expense, which probably means more delay. We're already behind schedule (the earliest we could have filed was February). Why does this matter? Practically speaking, we can't leave until the condo conversion is done. Not that we're looking to get out; but not having the option is... constraining.

Bugger.
