Jun. 16th, 2004 07:48 amAccording to today's Wall Street Journal, Elmo became the most popular Sesame Street character in 1996 (edging out Cookie Monster).
Maybe it's a generational thing - Elmo didn't exist when I was growing up - but I've never understood Elmo's appeal.
My favorite was either the Count, or Super Grover.
Not that I'm possessive towards Sesame Street, or anything. Just 'cause we first aired the same day, I mean.
What I'm reading: Andrew Swann, Broken Crescent
