Went out with a broker last night - his traders were in from New York. We had dinner at Farallon, which was quite nice. I particularly liked the jellyfish chandeliers.

Since none of us had been there before, we took the waiter's recommendation and tried the taster menu: five courses, starting with an amuse-bouche of fennel soup (in a demi-tasse cup) and ahi tartare, two kinds of fish, duck breast with huckleberries, and a miniature chocolate cake. Each dish came with its own glass of wine. Excellent food, if pricier than I would be comfortable paying. But I wasn't, so what the hey.

So I'm bleary this morning. Not hung over, by any stretch of the imagination; just not quite tracking. It's a reminder of why I don't normally go out on weeknights when the alarm goes off at 4 AM...
