Last night the wife and I went to the new De Young museum here in San Francisco. A broker rented the place out, so it was just us (and 700 other people, but what the hey). It was at night so we didn't get to look at the semi-controversial copper outside, nor did we get to wander into the observation tower. But we're members so we will go back some time.

Free booze and crappy hors d'oeuvres.
On the other hand, we got to see the Queen Hatsephut exhibit with only about 50 people alongside. That was cool. She reigned in ancient Egypt as King - for part of the time, as co-king with her son Thutmose III. Thutmose expanded the kingdom's borders immensely, and was referred to in our time as, variously, "Thutmose the Napoleon of the Ancient World", "Thutmose the Great", or more familiarly, "Thutmose the Utmos'".
