a local restaurant review-ish
May. 31st, 2006 10:08 amOver the weekend the wife and I went out to La Provence, a southern-French place not too far away. We actually set out to a sushi place next door, but this sounded better when we got there. There are a few restaurants on that block that look worth trying - a French/Vietnamese, the aforementioned sushi place, a Moroccan joint.
Anyway, it was good. A bit pricey for a local restaurant - this isn't a "dress up" place. But the owner and servers were pleasant and food was good. Although they were out of what sounded best to me that night, the daube (a red wine beef stew).
I'd go back, although it's not on the "must try at least once per year" list. Oh, and parking is nigh-impossible in the area. But it's San Francisco, so you probably knew that.
