Taking a different tack
Nov. 7th, 2006 07:52 amIf you are registered and planning to vote today, good for you. However:
If you are planning to vote for the same candidate/party/whatever out of reflex because you've always voted that way;
If you are planning to vote for a candidate because you like his or her looks or name;
If you are planning to vote for or against a proposition or candidate based on the latest ad;
Then stay home. You don't deserve the privilege of voting.
Think about the issues. The candidates. Read the propositions and who is supporting/opposing them.
Then vote, using your brain. Make an informed choice, whichever way that leads you.
But if you can't be bothered to think before exercising your franchise, then don't vote.
