I was the kitty today.

It feels like it's been a while since I've had a "weekend" where I wasn't rushing around doing things or going places; it really hasn't, of course, but that's why I took the vacation days.

Today was what I needed. Yes, I got some things done like smoking and hanging some period-recipe sausages from Just Add Butter (they'll make a Resolution Recipe appearance next week sometime), and various cleaning around the house. But mostly I sat outside in the beautiful 70-degree weather and read a book, or pet the kitty, or slugged about.

I'd get bored doing that all the time, but I needed it today.
