Galen is not normally a chatty cat. He didn't inherit the Siamese rowl, and he usually doesn't talk much - he relies on pointed glances and staff attention.

That changes when we've been gone for a while, however.
Along with much grooming, he also meows his complaints regarding our absence. The meows are different - he's clearly having a conversation. ("Meh mrr mrrOW meh. Mrr meow MEOW mrr-mrr!")

Against all expectations, I'm actually glad to be back at work today. Granted, I'm catching up and dealing with my gazillions of e-mail messages rather than dealing with the PHB, but still.

One of the books I took with me was Barry Grantham's Commedia Plays, which among other things has a long list of lazzi. He doesn't date them for the most part, and they are a mixture of period and modern. I'll try to remember to bring it to rehearsal -- there are a couple in there that I think will fit nicely in The English King of France, and I'm sure we can find more with little effort.
