This is a cult(ish) film that I have always been vaguely curious about. I remember when it came out in the '80s (yet another George Harrison-produced film that did badly at the box office) and several good friends raved about it over the years. I've always liked Richard E. Grant, whose first (and maybe only) starring role this was.

My summary: Fear and Loathing in the English Countryside (circa 1969). I mean that in the Hunter S. Thompson way.

Very little plot. Good dialogue. Tons of drinking. Bittersweet ending if you look through the layers. I can see why this became a cult-ish, but I don't need to watch it again. Not a waste of a Netflix rental though.

What I'm reading: Kelly McCullough, Cybermancy
