Authors and technology.
Oct. 9th, 2007 08:08 amI went to a last-minute signing last night. A new-ish author I like, Brandon Sanderson, was in town. He and another author apparently hit six bookstores in San Francisco signing store stock, but one of them had enough notice to send out a quick message to their customers. Which I appreciated, since I already had his three books.
He seems like a nice guy. There were six or ten people there, so the authors decided to do a quick reading as well. He called his wife in Utah, asked her to e-mail the first chapter of the next book to him (it's due in June), and he read it directly from his phone.
Ain't technology grand?
