Putting the "err" in "errand"
Jul. 11th, 2008 02:40 pmI had a few things to do this afternoon. First up: dropping off a leather jacket at a reliable dry cleaner that does leather on-premises. I drove down Mission (which is always not-fun) until I got a couple blocks away, at which point the police tape stopped me. Seems there was some sort of major accident and the police had shut down the area. ...Fine, I diverted a couple of blocks, parked, and walked to the dry cleaners. Fortunately it wasn't actually on the block closed to all traffic (even foot).
Unfortunately, the store has closed for good.
...Fine, I dumped my jacket at a different cleaner's nearby (which I'm sure sends their leather out, but I was beyond caring at that point). Navigated back and did a few more errands. Then went to the wine store: we're roasting pimentos de padron tonight and I thought a bubbly Lambrusco would go well with it. Fortunately, it's carried at the shop I patronize already.
Unfortunately, they were out of it. Of course.
