Twelfth Night was odd. For the first time in many, many years neither [livejournal.com profile] bonacorsi or I had much we had to do. She stepped down as Collegium chancellor but that was it for her; I wasn't able to be in the play this year and didn't have any officer meetings (huzzah!). This meant that when combined with the spread-out site, we spent the majority of the event together. Usually we see each other when we get up and for about five minutes before dinner.

I enjoyed the play. It was weird, because I hadn't been in the audience for one since the very first two were performed. (And the only reason I didn't audition for those was that I wasn't completely sure I would be at the event, so I didn't want to commit.) We got to see Maria's peerage and were in the hall for some of the Darkwood changeover. Well-deserved on all fronts. But we skipped court for the rest of the day and I don't feel I missed anything.

Fabulous Friday dinner at the Wool Growers Basque restaurant in Los Banos. Hearty cheap food. The ranch beans and the lamb stew in particular hit the spot. Lots of local duck hunters still in cammies. The extended fealty shrub potluck Saturday was lots of fun too - we got to chat with Radnor & Ysabeau, and there was tons of good food. Unfortunately I had put my torta of mixed greens in the room fridge... where it froze. Literally. *sigh*

Neither of us drank much; partly we don't generally, but also the colds that we were fighting off. Herself snoozed for most of the drive back Sunday, which was uneventful. I took 280 to enjoy the green hills and view.
