Bad Idea #1: Leaving a square Pyrex on the kitchen table. Galen has demonstrated a significant habit of pushing things to shatter on the stone floor. They're usually vertical things that he makes horizontal, though, so this seemed like a safe bet.

Bad Idea #2: I've been slammed by a cold, so I let myself sleep in today. Galen has been accustomed to having food much earlier. (He doesn't necessarily eat it, but he likes the staff serve him, I guess.) Since both [livejournal.com profile] bonacorsi and I were still in bed...

Combine Bad Ideas 1 and 2 for a spectacular crash and shattering. I preferred our previous cat's trick of jumping onto our bladders to get us up.

I will feel less guilty shoving him into the cat carrier for his annual vet visit today.

Main problem with watching Errol Flynn in The Sea Hawk: I immediately want to play Sid Meier's Pirates. I lent it to [livejournal.com profile] aimeric though, so I'm out of luck.

Listen very carefully, I will say this only once. Unlike Underdog, 'Allo, 'Allo still stands up 20 years later. It's essentially a farce taking place in occupied WW2 Fronce. It's well-written fluff. The thing that's carried off the most brilliantly? The accents. The Fronch speak with Fronch accents and can't understand English - which is the Brits speaking in toff. One character who is bilingual switches back and forth. One of the recurring plots is the fate of a stolen painting: the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies.

It's worth a rental. All nine seasons' worth.
