Where I am, or how sad is that?
Nov. 15th, 2013 07:35 amA friend gave a talk last night at our local cookery bookstore. Her book on San Francisco foods has just come out. She (unexpectedly, to me) gave me and the curvy upstairs neighbor a shout-out in the acknowledgements section as one of the many people providing inspiration. Nice though.
Anyway, people brought various SF-related (/inspired) nibbles. A cocktail guy brought pisco punch. Someone made Rice-a-Roni. Tamales, Mission burritos, other tasty stuff. I couldn't think of anything to bring, so I didn't - and there was plenty of food. Shortly after arriving, I thought "Oh, I could have sliced up a basic cured pork sausage and called it 'Columbus Salame-inspired'".
It wasn't until the end of the evening that the thought of sourdough bread occurred to me.
