Foul is Foul
Oct. 19th, 2020 08:23 amWe rented a purported documentary on Macbeth and the historic sites it uses. That sounded interesting. We gave up about ten minutes in. (I didn't know the porter scene could be even more tedious!) Apparently I should have read the unanimous one-star reviews:
"This is a wretched production. Bewildering to those unfamiliar with the play, and soporific to those that are, one's mind boggles at the thinking that went into its hackneyed presentation, amateurish construction, and dreadful editing, especially when it comes to the cringe-worthy performances of scenes from the play."
"This is what you would get if Macbeth had a creepy stalker who decided one weekend to make a tribute video with their mom's 1989 camcorder. A hot mess in theory, but just a mess in reality."
The reviews are not mistaken. They can't all be winners, kid.
