Apr. 19th, 2021 07:24 amAs Miss Beatrice approaches her first birthday and settles into an adult shape, we've had a bit of a rethink on her background. Ultimately, she came from the pound and she will forever be classified as "DSH" - domestic shorthair. Obviously she's not a registered breed, and none of that matters to us. We got her from the pound for her, not for her breed.
Interestingly, her current appearance suggests that rather than our previous guess of British Shorthair genes, we think she may now be more the Fronch "Chartreux". BSH tend to be a bit bigger and jowlier (especially males). The ear and eye shapes are a bit different. And this Wikipedia picture of a Chartreux looks amazingly like Bea...
