Beijing-style Radish Salad

2 watermelon radishes (or equivalent mass in regular radishes)
3 T vinegar (I used 1 each of rice vinegar, balsamic, and raspberry)
4 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 T sesame oil
2+ garlic cloves, crushed

Wash, peel, and julienne or grate the radishes. (I used the food grinder attachment on the Kitchenaid.) Mix together the rest and dress the radishes with the sauce.

What worked: This was a good alternate way to use up watermelon radishes, which are freakin' huge. Seriously. They're the size of beets. Also, they're quite pretty when grated!
Oh, and it tasted fine. There was only so much we could eat at once, but still.

What didn't: The wife suggested honey instead of sugar. Harder to mix in, but I agree.

Will I make this again? It won't be on my regular rotation, but I'll keep the recipe for next year's CSA weekly load of radishes.

Older? Is it your birthday? If so, happy birthday; if not, well, happy unbirthday.
