"And now... I bake."
Today is the feast day of Saint Clement, patron saint of the London Worshipful Guild of Bakers.

Edited to add: I just got an e-mail from the soon-to-be Warden of said Guild. He'd like permission to use my article on baker's marks as part of a historical display for their Guild Hall.

!...

(Well, maybe it gives me an "in" to visit the place, when and if we get to London.)

Somehow we need to get you a reliquary of that saint. A burnt crust, perhaps?

I thought that a reliquary was what you put a relic in. Like the reliquary is the little box that Saint Whoever's foreskin (the relic) is kept in.

does custard count?

WOW! That's pretty spiffy ... having an article on display for the Guild of Bakers! Not everyone can say that they have done anything like that!

incidentally, would you add a link to the article? I'd love to read it!

Congrats!!!

In honor of Saint Clement I will go home and bake something tonight. Hmmmm.... possibilities abound....

I think I can safely say that very few people have done anything like this.

It's not like it's a huge award - but these guys are theoretically professionals, and are one of the oldest recorded merchant guilds in London... I just do this for fun.

Mind somewhat 'splodey now.

Nonsense--it's super cool. You have every right to be proud and maybe even a little smirky. :-)

Exactly! <g> But not even considering specifically the Baker's Guild, but any museum or other scholarly institute ... very few folk any of us know (if any besides you) have done something like that -- getting published or linked to or ... by one of those institutes.

Damn straight! Be proud. And if your ego swells TOO much, you always have your friends around to take care of that problem. <g>

Very cool.

It's always a good feeling to be recognized by the professionals in the field your interested in.

I get that feeling when the pro-magicians think that including me is a good idea. *smile*

Conga-rats!

Ah, you're right. The relic would be the bread crust, the reliquary would be the box (or casket, or whatever) that you stored the relic in.

That is drop-dead-fall-down-get-back-up-again cool. And on the feast day and everything. Wow.
