Dodged a bullet
Mar. 15th, 2006 10:02 amI have to go visit the mothership in Kansas City early next month. I'm supposed to fly in Sunday, I idly looked at the Royals schedule, and voila! they have a day game Sunday. Flights to KC are limited (for good reason, I guess) so I'd have to fly Saturday morning to make the game.
I was actively looking into it... checking with our sales guys who have season tickets... when I realized that I already have dinner reservations booked at a nice restaurant that Saturday evening. For our anniversary.
Yeah, that would go over well with the wife - "Sorry dear, I'm cancelling our anniversary dinner to go watch a baseball game with a salesman."
She'd have three days to change the locks. Back to the original plan of flying Sunday; I'm sure I'll have other opportunities to catch a Royals game.

Date: 2006-03-15 09:18 pm (UTC)I remember when I did that. Apparently the ex was upset and said, "I didn't give her permission to do that!"
That, and then the later exchange between my dad and Janice remain a few of my favorite quotes from that time period.
Dad: (bewildered) "She changed the locks."
Janice: "He must have pissed her off."
