2 cups torn romaine leaves
1/2 cup quartered strawberries
1-2 Tbsp chopped red onion
1-2 Tbsp toasted slivered almonds
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Combine lettuce, berries, onion, and almonds. Toss gently.
Whisk together honey and vinegar. Pour over salad and toss gently again.
What worked: Pretty. Reasonably tasty. Good combination of textures and flavors; not too sweet, which surprised me a bit.
What didn't: I dunno, it wasn't too ambitious but I think it was fine.
Will I make it again? I might. This would be a superb opener for a summer dinner party.
