Syd Barrett apparently died July 7. He was the writer of such immortal Pink Floyd lyrics as the song "Bike":
"I've got a bike. You can ride it if you like.
It's got a basket, a bell that rings and
Things to make it look good.
I'd give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it."
Syd Barrett, ladies and gentlemen ... living proof that the human brain can survive in a lysergic acid diethylamide solution.

"Too much LDS in the 60's ..."

No one ever expected the lyrics to Pink Floyd (or Moody Blues) songs to really make sense <g>.

"Too much LDS in the 60's "

Um... wouldn't that be too MANY LDS in the 6o's? I never knew that church had psychodelic properties. ;-)

Um, Star Trek IV reference, where Capt. Kirk gets "LSD" wrong, trying to explain Spock's behavior ...

(if you have to explain it, it's not funny ... oh well. <g>)

I have a "stream of conscious total geek" living in my head. This stuff just comes out as I go without much effort most of the time. To give you a true feel for the SF Geek, I heartily recommend the movie Free Enterprise, but be warned that it's rated "R" for a combination of language and some sexual bits (female anatomy mostly). I am not as much of a geek as the main characters, but I can certainly relate, especially as they do day-to-day things and sf movie/tv references pop into their conversation constantly. I have to curb it a lot because not everyone gets all that, but it still pops out sometimes.
