Swab Story
Aug. 17th, 2006 08:27 amThe spa was faboo. To answer the #1 question: no, the mud doesn't smell. It's volcanic ash, heated to sterilize and then cooled to "only" 100 degrees. The mud bath is like being a grape suspended in jello. Not for the claustrophobic, but quite relaxing.
We spent many hours in and by the pool. We were in the lodge (a converted motel, renovated so it doesn't feel like a motel). Next time, I'd rent one of the cottages that are alongside. More of the '30s sanitorium feel, and they look out on the croquet pitch and shuffleboard. They also have kitchenettes; it would be fun with another couple or two.
The stress is building up again, though.
