Instant karma's gonna get you

madbakerLast night, shortly after I'd gone to bed, the phone rang. A young lady in the SCA had her car break down in San Francisco, and she was frantically trying anyone in the newsletter who lives in the City.
The wife calmed her down somewhat, and since it was late Sunday night and garages weren't open, picked her up. The fuzzy upstairs neighbor made her some dinner and, after calling home to let them know she was all right, she stayed the night on our futon. This morning, the wife took her back to the car and waited with her until her father and brother showed up to get the car towed home up north somewhere.
I never saw her - I left for work this morning before she woke up, obviously. Maybe it's better that way; I will remember the help we could offer and not the person.
Because I'd like to think that we're the sort of people in the SCA who do this for each other.
Especially for a total stranger.
