Oct. 19th, 2006 05:24 pmI finally made it to the Morgan Library. I was somewhat disappointed that not much is on display - one of their three Gutenberg Bibles was, and some other books and manuscripts, but only enough for one smallish room. The crowd was there for the Bob Dylan retrospective, which amused me as well as made me slightly disappointed, although I'm not entirely sure why.
I couldn't take any pictures for the wife. No cameras allowed, alas. Otherwise I'd have taken pictures of the awesome bookshelves... I want a library with three stories of leaded-glass paned shelves, and a hidden staircase behind one of the shelves.

Hidden Staircase

With embattlements and crenallations, and arrow slit windows.
