I called in sick again today. I'm recovering, but thought that another day resting would be more helpful than going into work. (Of course, that's usually true. But anyway.)

The Ed Levin work party looked reasonably well-attended; I showed up for the price negotiations, then left because I wasn't up to post-hole digging. We have five events there this year. They like us. As one of the head rangers said, "Unlike most volunteer groups, when you guys show up, you work."

It is pretty funny really. I've only managed to make two of these work parties, but it seems like no matter how much work they think they have for us, when we show up the Rangers take one look at us and start scrambling because they don't have enough. And they always seem to feel guilty when they start piling stuff on. We just keep asking for more to do and they look at us like we're nuts.

It's great! *smile*

Brings a whole new aspect to the "Freaking the Mundanes" concept, eh?

Darnit, I thought I was on the mailing list for the work parties (since I have a selfish personal interest in the site) but I didn't hear about this one and I could have gone. Must make noise about this.

Actually, don't stress. This one wasn't widely announced because we only needed about 10 people for very specific work; woodworking, sign construction and planting. Duncan decided to only let a few specific people know who he felt would be suited to the tasks they wanted done.
