mini-film review
Mar. 17th, 2007 11:57 amWe watched Garden State last night. Obviously a very personal (but not autobiographical) film by Zach Braff, who apparently is in a TV show (Scrubs). He wrote, directed, and starred in it. I haven't decided if this is his Citizen Kane, or his Glen or Glenda.
It was a decent movie. Natalie Portman turns out to be a pretty good actress, when she's given a script and direction.
I wouldn't watch it again, but that's what Netflix is for.
Edited to add: My favorite line (for tolerably obvious reasons) was from Natalie's character, a habitual liar:

"We're great together! I haven't lied in, like, two days!"
"Is that true?"
"...No."
