Sushi in New York
Jun. 13th, 2007 09:11 pmNot Nobu this time - it was on my dime. I had heard good things about Sasabune, a sushi restaurant that started in LA. On the wall it says "Today's Special: Trust Me" and also "No California Roll".
It's omikase: they bring you what's good that day. At the end, if you're still hungry (which is difficult) you can order individual pieces.
Wow. This was faboo. Several different kinds of tuna, sashimi and roll, oysters, scallops - even sea urchin, which still doesn't do anything for me but I dutifully tried. Totally worth blowing through my corporate dinner budget. I would definitely go back. Especially if the wife is with me!
