Beltane was fun. [livejournal.com profile] bonacorsi couldn't go due to health issues (and since it was bitterly cold Friday night, and she had a pneumonia flare-up at home anyway, it is for the best she wasn't there) so I took the dome tent for the first time in many years. Heck, it's been a long time since I took that little gear even to a day event.

I drove up leisurely Friday, unpacked the car in about ten minutes, and spent the rest of the event lounging around for the most part. The St. Teresa Saturday dinner was good as usual, although with five people there wasn't way too much food as usual. We only had to foist leftover lamb on people, not beg people to come over and eat. The mushrooms and cheese I made were good (it's mushrooms baked with Brie - how bad can it be!) and the millet polenta was tasty, if shredded. There was a bit left over that I fried up with my scramble and house-cured bacon Sunday morning.

One of the potters had a small plate with a bunny on it, so I bought it for the wife. She likes it.

Because I was sitting in the Laurel meeting next to one of the Kingdom moneyers, I mentioned that I was interested in learning the craft. It's been something I've been thinking about trying for a few years, but haven't really had time (or made the effort, really). It turns out that no one from the guild is able to be at Investiture in a couple weeks for the presentation, so I'm now doing it. Happy coincidence.

All in all, a pleasant weekend that would have been much better if the wife had been (healthily) there.
