Moving to San Francisco has been a good thing. We got away from the psycho neighbor, own half of a two-flat building with loads more character than the townhouse, and Dawn's school commute went from one & a half hours to 1/2 hour. My commute went up, but from 3 minutes to 1/2 hour, so it's still doable. On balance, it's worked out well even if we're feeling poor from all the house expenditures and tuition payments.
But I miss my friends.
Most of my friends are in the South Bay, and can't (or won't) make the trek up here on a regular basis. Can't really blame 'em; I game regularly in San Jose on Mondays, and I drag the entire next day. Even when I crash there (which gets me an extra hour of sleep).
I miss the silly card game nights, the random get-togethers, the contact.
Okay, enough self-pity for today.
