The French accuse English of war crimes over Agincourt.

"And so-called scholars in France now upset
Shall think themselves superior they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

Well the French are known for their whine. ;-)

Well actually, they are probably right. There's really no question that the slaughter of the French prisoners was contrary to the conventions of the day; calling that a "war crime" might be a reasonable analogy. And there's also little doubt that the English version we've all grown up with is a massive distortion.

Also, while the French lost the battle of Agincourt, they won the Hundred Years' War. Eventually.

It may be really difficult to prosecute Henry this long after the event. But the French are very clever.

Entirely different subject I've been meaning to ask you about: is it the normal time of year for our hop plant to start suddenly losing its leaves?

Yep! The bines die back very suddenly, not long after the cones ripen. Kind of scary the first time you see it, because it happens so fast.
