Nov. 11th, 2008 08:45 amThe wife and I went to Delfina last night for birthday dinner. We'd never been there, it's not far and there's usually street parking, they've been open for ten years, and our CSA farmers deliver vegetables there - all good reasons to try it.
The restaurant was reasonably crowded for a Monday night. In an unplanned outcome, all our dishes involved pig: we split an opener of chicken liver spiedini (Sicilian kebabs) and guanciale; a bitter greens salad with pancetta; and pork loin with polenta.
bonacorsi had molten chocolate cake and I had a chocolate/espresso creme anglaise-type thingy. All very good, and fairly reasonably priced. They comped me a glass of dessert wine with a birthday candle on the base as well.
We were overdressed, which I expected. I'd happily go back. Some time I'd like to try their pizzeria as well.
