Date Night
Dec. 30th, 2009 10:12 amWe had a lovely evening last night.
The wife met me for a Sidecar at Bar Americano. We chatted for a while and then rambled briefly through the Ferry Building and on to Perbacco - my boss gave me a gift card from them as a Christmas present. We got there a bit early and asked the server to haul
ysabella_dolfin out of the downstairs salumeria. She gave us a quickie tour and I got to geek briefly with the sous-chef and another charcutier. It was great fun and although I would have loved to have the time to chat longer, they were busy.
We split the small salumi platter, of course. The highlight for us was a spreadable salami, a mixture of pork and veal. The wife had a hanger steak and I chose rabbit. They also comped us a butternut squash ravioli plate (I think they made too many) which was quite nice. We split a butterscotch padino (pudding) that was really good. Perbacco has seriously upped its game since we went there a few years ago.
Given that it was a work night, I'm pretty tired today. But it was well worth it.
