That was a line in this year's play regarding my character. Apparently it reverberated into the real world, though:

I received an AARP card in yesterday's mail.

I'm only 41. I'm not sure whether to be amused or insulted.
No, I do know: I'm insulted. "I may have this white beard, but between my legs I'm still as green as Boccaccio!"

Think of it as a compliment. It takes a lot of work and effort to get to be 50 and still be off the streets. LOL.

I've been offered the senior discount on a couple of occasions, unbidden. I took it, but, man...

You probably would never insult your tastebuds by patronizing such a place, but I am informed that KFC gives a senior discount.

I paid for the AARP membership when I was 48 or 49 ... but seriously never did anything with it, besides skim the plethora of postal mail things they send out, most of which bored me to tears (and hence they got tossed) ... the card never came in handy for a discount. Now that I'm over 50, I still don't think about it. I guess it's all attitude. I don't feel like a senior citizen, so I'm not ... even with the white beard (and ... naw, too much information ... <g>).

AARP has spies everywhere! (They aren't very smart though)
