Hmm - and there was me just wondering whether the Way of the English is a heretical sect, wanting to make bacon from parts other than the belly (and, yes, whether one can get the relevant cuts to make true rashers in this benighted land, and so lead you-all to the light). It is a blessed relief to find the Church so willing to embrace the uncrisp.

This is part of a hilarious photo-essay series where 4yo children are taken to Michelin-starred restaurants and served tasting menus.

On-topic, what do you do with pre-cubed bacon? UC Davis Meat Lab bacon looks cooked (firm not raw-stretchy), ham-like, and I'm never sure if I have to cook it. I roasted the first pack of 1cm cubes with country fries and it was nice. Would bacon chunks in split pea soup be gilding the lily?
