“Pick on badassslinky” time

Went to the Golden Stag Players audition yesterday. I’m still taking this year off, but I wanted to see folks and be social. Dawn stayed inside the whole time and art geeked with CJ and maestrateresa.

There were only four or five people there to read for parts. But two of them are new, so that’s good. It seemed to go okay.

This morning on the way to work, I was trudging along at my usual speed; I pulled into the left lane to pass a slightly slower car. There was a motorcycle in the lane already, but it was far enough back that I wasn’t cutting it off.

Then the police lights flashed at me. (sigh)

I slid back over a lane as soon as I could; of course, I had to speed up to do so. The cop glared at me as he passed, doubtless mulling over whether to write me a ticket. For the heinous crime of going 70 in a 65 zone. Or maybe for the effrontery of getting in his way, I’m not sure. But he didn’t pull me over, so I suppose I’ll take that.

On the fool police thought-line: I have been had them flash their lights at me three times in the past year when Hank has been doing her damnedest to get up the 17 at speed. If we don't get a running start, we lag at about 45 or so for a while. We stay in the slow lane but I am still getting attitude from the cops!
I think we need to make a sign along the lines of, "small engine, doin' the best we can. if this is a problem for you - feel free to help by getting out and pushing".
