But at least it was a beautiful day at the ballpark.
I earned some good karma, too; I have never caught a baseball at a game. Come close a few times, including about four games ago when a ball bounced off my seat while I was away in the bathroom. Today, just before the game was starting, I was chatting with the broker when all of a sudden, thunk! A ball landed just to my right.

I wasn't paying particularly close attention, but I suspect it was tossed by a batboy (we were about 12 rows back along the third base side, behind the Giants dugout).

The game hadn't started and batting practice was over. Since I hadn't been watching, there was no sense of accomplishment. So I tossed it to a kid two rows in front of me. Heck, I know that this would have meant an immense amount to me at that age.

Still would, actually.

The loss got me thinking, anyway - I've been to about 10 games this season. I think the Giants have only won one (when the wife went). Other games, with brokers or with knitter, the Giants seem to lose.
Coincidence? I think not. Yeah. Too bad, though.

Mental note: do not use the last splorch of sunscreen in the bottle. It doesn't work!

And I did something I haven't done in about 25 years: eat a frozen chocolate malt. With a wooden paddle. Took me waaaay back.

What you should do is test that theory...take your wife to another game and see what happens...

Frozen chocolate malts can only be eaten with wooden paddles, and I would feel odd having one anywhere other than at a baseball game.

It's a good reason to go to a game, in fact.

My neck and face are fine - they were the first place I 'screened. Left arm, slightly burned on the wrist (it was next). Right arm, mostly burned except a sliver where the sunscreen first went before it spread.

Not too bad of a burn, but it's the oddity of it all.

I used to buy them when my dad and I would go to games, freeze at Candlestick, and watch the Giants lose. I haven't eaten one outside a game... well, maybe ever but I don't remember that precisely.
