But Not A Drop To Drink
Dec. 17th, 2018 09:43 amI woke up around midnight to the sound of water moving in our pipes. This is unusual; normal activity doesn't cause noise in our bedroom. But the upstairs neighbor normally showers around that time, so the wife persuaded me it was normal.
When she came to bed a bit later, we found out the reason for the noise: a water main had broken a few blocks away, and we had no water.
I didn't get back to sleep for about four hours. Fortunately the water was back on when I got up, so I was able to blearily take a shower and at least make a cup of coffee. Dragging even more than usual for a Monday though, and I suspect I'll drug myself into oblivion tonight.
